In a touching tribute, renowned actor Suriya has taken to X(formerly Twitter) to mark the second anniversary of the release of 'Jai Bhim,' a film that resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike. The Suriya-starrer, directed by TJ Gnanavel, not only captured hearts but also etched its name in the annals of Tamil cinema for its sensitive portrayal of a significant issue.
Expressing his gratitude, Suriya conveyed his joy for the overwhelming support and love the film and its team have received since its release. In his heartfelt tweet, he acknowledged the film's enduring impact, stating, "The best recognition for a work is to stay in people's minds,"
"Heartfelt thanks to everyone who welcomed and celebrated the good effort." He also highlighted the positive changes the film brought to the lives of the tribal people in Tamil Nadu, thanks to the state government's support.
'Jai Bhim,' based on a true incident involving the Irular community, was written and directed by TJ Gnaanvel, drawing inspiration from the work of Justice Chandru. The film features a stellar cast including Lijomol Jose, Manikandan, Suriya, Rajisha Vijayan, and Prakash Raj. The storyline delves into pressing issues such as police brutality and caste discrimination faced by the Irular tribe.
Premiering on Amazon Prime Video on November 2, 2021, 'Jai Bhim' made an indelible mark, prompting discussions and reflections on societal challenges. Notably, there was a piece of exciting news, by confirming the sequel, Rajasekar Pandian from 2D Entertainment revealed last year that Jai Bhim Part 2 is in the ideation stage.
