Vijay Antony, the versatile actor who recently made his directorial debut with the blockbuster Pichaikkaran 2, is all set to enthrall the audience with his next film, Kolai. Balaji Kumar, the mastermind behind the gripping thriller Vidiyum Munn, takes the directorial helm once again, where Ritika Singh, who plays the role of a determined cop, and Vijay Antony, who takes on the mantle of a brilliant private detective, casting shadows of intrigue and suspense over every twist and turn.

Kolai, which is produced by Inifiniti & Lotus Productions, has been inspired by a real-life incident that took place in New York City in 1923. The film is said to be on the lines of the Hollywood crime thriller Knives Out, where a group of suspects are interrogated by a quirky sleuth. The film also features Meenakshi Chaudhary, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Murali Sharma, Arjun Chidambaram, and others in supporting roles.

The film, which was delayed due to various reasons including Vijay Antony’s health issues, has finally locked its release date as July 21, 2023. The makers announced the date with a new poster that shows Vijay Antony in a salt-and-pepper look holding a case film. The film has music by Girish Gopalakrishnan and cinematography by Sivakumar Vijayan.
