Pathu Thala directed by Obeli N Krishna set its debut on theatres from March 30th. The film features Gautham Karthik in the lead role as a police officer while Simbu plays the underground gangster. Moreover, actress Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead as Tahsildar. Directed by Obeli N Krishna, the film's teaser has set a new record by surpassing five million views in just a single day. The makers now celebrated this remarkable achievement by sharing the numbers on social media.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Studio Green which backing the venture, shared the teaser's milestone by penning, "The Thunderstorm of #AGR continues with 5M+ STRIKES #PathuThala #Atman #SilambarasanTR #PathuThalaFromMarch30 Worldwide #StudioGreen Release" The movie is the official Tamil remake of the Kannada film ‘Mufti’ with modified screenplay.

'Pathu Thala' features Gautham Karthik playing the role of a police officer, while Simbu portrays the character of an powerful gangster. Actress Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead as Tahsildar. In a interview with a regional YouTube channel, director Obeli N. Krishna was asked to explain the choice of "Pathu Thala" as the film's title. He defined "Pathu Thala" as the Ramayana villain Raavana, who is ultimately a good person at heart.

The film's music is composed by the legendary AR Rahman, and the first single from the movie, 'Namma Satham', was released on February 3rd, marking Simbu's birthday. The song has been received positively by audiences. Apart from the lead roles, the film’s cast includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Kalaiyarasan, Teejay Arunasalam in important roles.
