The much-awaited first look of STR48, the upcoming historical drama starring Silambarsan, will be unveiled on February 3, coinciding with the actor’s birthday. The film, which is being produced by Kamal Haasan under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International, will go on floors in the first week of February.

STR48 marks the second directorial venture of Desingh Periasamy, who made his debut with the romantic comedy Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal. The film has Simbu playing dual roles of hero and villain. The music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The film has also sparked a lot of curiosity about the female lead, as sources claim that there are three contenders for the role. Deepika Padukone, Keerthy Suresh and Pooja Hegde are reportedly being considered for the role, and the final decision will be announced soon. The film is expected to be a grand spectacle with a rich historical backdrop and a gripping storyline.

The film is set in the pre-independence era and is said to have a musical twist and Simbu is said to be playing an identical brothers. STR48 is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and fans are eagerly waiting to see the first look of Simbu in his double avatar. The film is slated to release later this year.
