Popular filmmaker Manikandan, who is known for helming the critically acclaimed movie 'Kaaka Muttai', is prepared to begin working on his next movie in which he is said to be roping in two legendary actors Mammootty and Vijay Sethupathi for the first time. 

Iconic thespian Mammootty has rich experience working in Tamil cinema and a remarkable fanbase. The 71-year-old versatile actor's last Tamil movie was 'Peranbu', helmed by Ram in 2019. Recently, the two talented actors of South, Mammootty, and Jyothika have teamed up for an upcoming film titled Kaathal- The Core. Now the latter is to team up for a screen action with Vijay Sethupathi for the first time, as per strong murmurings in town. 

This made fans go exciting at peak, as they both have a strong fanbase in Tamil and Malayalam. Sethupathi was last seen in a Malayalam film '19(1)(A)', with Nithya Menon. The megastar and proficient actor may officially announce the project in a few days, according to the most latest updates. 

After Mammootty and Vijay Sethupathi finish their current commitments, as per some unconfirmed reports, the Manikandan-directed film may begin production by the first of December of this year. On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi has a terrific and promising line-up. In addition to playing the main antagonist in Jawan, the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan film directed by Atlee, Seenu Ramasamy's Idam Porul Yeval, and Merry Christmas, a Hindi-Tamil bilingual starring Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, Vijay Sethupathi also stars in both of these films.
