Actor Arun Vijay had three films released in 2022—Oh My Dog, Yaanai, and Sinam—and all three were met with mixed reviews from audiences and film critics. Borrder, filmmaker Arivazhagan Venkatachalam's directorial, was supposed to open in theatres in 2023 as Arun Vijay's first film for this year, but the release date was once again pushed back. The film was earlier announced to release on 24th February 2023 but the makers shared a official statement regarding postponing the release date.
Taking to Twitter, All in Pictures which is bankrolling the action thriller, wrote "Our recent film production titled Arun Vijay in BORRDER directed by Arivazhagan with an amazing cast & crew. This film was made duing & after Covid hard times with great difficulties. But we are so happy & proud of making possible of many impossibles."
"Despite our willingness to meet you all at the theaters on Feb 24, 2023, the present uncertain situations are not favorable for the release across the Globe. We understand that the wait can be excruciating but we assure that the entertainment & film experience will be worthy of ur patience. As we are getting a better & big date for the release of our film is now postponed from the originally scheduled on 24th February 2023 to a later date in March 2023"
The film starring Arun Vijay, Regina Cassandra and Stefy Patel, revolves around patriotism. Actor Arun Vijay and director Arivazhagan Venkatachalam are working again after 2017 film Kuttram 23 and web series Tamil Rockerz. The film's music composed by Sam CS. B. Rajasekar handles the film's cinematography and edited by VJ Sabu Joseph.
