Marking the eighth year of the release of the 2014 action-comedy 'Jigarthanda', director Karthik Subbaraj earlier this month announced the sequel to the film. As he is currently working on the project, he is in talks with two prominent actors of Tamil cinema - Raghava Lawrence and SJ Surya to rope them into Jigarthanda 2. SJ Surya previously appeared in Karthik's movie 'Iraivi' which was released in 2016.
The ongoing buzz is that the actor, director and choreographer, Raghava Lawrence, who won the heart of audiences with his horror comedy Muni/Kanchana franchise film series, and SJ Surya, who has recently received positive reviews for his acting work, particularly in Spyder, Monster, Maanadu, Nenjam Marapathillai, and Don are collaborating on Karthik Subbaraj's "Jigarthanda 2."
Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Lakshmi Menon, Vijay Sethupathi, and Karunakaran played pivotal roles in the first part. The movie, which won two National Film Awards, focused on the cold-blooded gangster Sethu and an aspiring filmmaker named Karthik.
The film's idea of how a filmmaker makes a work out of the gangster lifestyle profoundly inspired the film buffs. Meanwhile, Raghava Lawrence is getting ready to awestruck the fans with a horror generic performance with the Chandramukhi sequel, helmed by P Vasu, which itself is a revival of the superhit movie after 17 years, whereas SJ Suriya lastly appeared in Don and Kadamayai Sei. He has several projects lined up including Bommai and Mark Antony.
