The former Indian cricketer, who battled cancer and won many hearts with his on-field heroics, has revealed his choice of actor to play him in his biopic. Yuvraj Singh, who is in talks with filmmakers to bring his life story to the silver screen, said that he was impressed by Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in the movie “Animal” and would love to see him portray his character.
“I watched ‘Animal’ recently and I was blown away by Ranbir’s acting. He has the charisma and the intensity to pull off my role. But, of course, it is up to the director to decide. We are working on the script and the details. I will announce it soon,” Yuvraj said in an interview.
Yuvraj Singh, who retired from international cricket in 2019, is one of the most celebrated players in Indian history. He was instrumental in India’s World Cup triumphs in 2007 and 2011, and was awarded the Man of the Tournament in the latter. He also holds the record for the fastest fifty in T20 cricket, hitting six sixes in an over against England in 2007.
However, his career and life took a dramatic turn when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2012. He underwent chemotherapy in the US and returned to India in 2013. He made a comeback to the national team in 2013 and played his last match in 2017.
Yuvraj Singh’s biopic is expected to be a gripping and inspiring tale of courage, resilience and passion. Fans are eagerly waiting for the official announcement and the release date of the movie. Meanwhile Ranbir Kapoor last seen in Animal, who also has the sequel, Animal Park. The director of the film, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, also confirmed that the next part of the film will be more darker than the first chapter. The actor also has Ramayana, Brahmastra Part 2.
