Sivakarthikeyan, the rising star of Tamil cinema, has given a double treat to his fans by releasing the first glimpse of his upcoming sci-fi film ‘Ayalaan’ on Monday evening. The glimpse video, which shows Sivakarthikeyan in an action-packed avatar fighting against an alien invasion, has gone viral on YouTube and has crossed 1 million views in just 24 hours. It is also trending at #1 on the video-sharing platform.

Sivakarthikeyan took to Twitter and wrote, "Thank you all for your love for the poster Here is a glimpse of our #Ayalaan Live in action #AyalaanFromDiwali2023 ". The poster, which was released earlier on Monday, had revealed the release date of the film as Diwali 2023. ‘Ayalaan’ becomes the first Tamil film to officially announce its release for the festival of lights this year.

The film, which has been in the making for four years, is said to be heavy on visual effects and boasts of having the highest number of CGI shots for a pan-Indian movie. The alien character, which plays a pivotal role throughout the movie, is created by Phantom FX, the company behind the CG of many Hollywood movies. Reports says that the budget for the alien character took over Rs. 2 crores. 

‘Ayalaan’ is a long-awaited magnum opus project in Sivakarthikeyan’s filmography. Directed by Ravikumar of ‘Indru Netru Naalai’ fame, this is touted to be a sci-fi alien fantasy film with stunning visual effects and music by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. The film also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Karunakaran in pivotal roles.
