His next appearance will be on the film Dhruva Natchathiram, which stars Vikram, which shelved for a long time.
Parthiban recently expressed his mixed emotions about his film being a part of the list in The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, he said, "Iravin Nizhal is just a part of Oscar eligible list, but RRR has been shortlisted by the academy and has a bright chance at winning the award. It is definitely a proud moment for us,"
"But it is an open truth that all similar big-budget Hollywood undergo campaigning to reach this stage. Directors Ram, Vignesh Shivn and Vetrimaaran can vouch for this. The budget spent on the campaigning is negligible for top grossers."
