Arun Matheswaran who rose to prominence through his movies 'Rocky' and 'SaaniKaayidham', in which Dhanush's elder brother and popular director Selvaraghavan played the lead role. For his next, Dhanush has joined hands for the first time and the actor will be coming in a new avatar as 'Captain Miller'. The most recent sneak peek video showcases the sets, which can't help but pique interest given that the story is based on a pivotal historical event.

Produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan's Sathya Jyothi Films, the film has Dhanush in the lead, playing the titular role who took to Twitter on Sunday and wrote, "Captain Miller A glimpse". The asuran actor appeared in a perplexed lookover without revealing his face in the one-minute video that shows behind-the-scenes footage and all the hardwork makings, from guns and truck to the machineries for the historical masterpiece.

Going by the film's title, fans beleives that Arun may or may not have built the story of Captain Miller, Vallipuram Vasanthan, a member of the Black Tiger faction of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), who knowingly drove a bomb-laden vehicle into the epicentre of the Black July anti-Tamil riots.

The rumour is only half true, but Arun said in an interview that he named the film after the character John.H.Miller from the movie Saving Private Ryan. He also said that the film is said to be set in 1930s and 1940s Madras, and Dhanush will reportedly be "sporting three looks in the film" along with two other character names. The makers also confirmed that the film also has Kannada veteran star Shivaraj Kumar in the crucial lead.

GV Prakash Kumar composed the film, Priyanka Arul Mohan plays the female lead while Sundeep Kishan, Nivedita Satish, John Kokkan and Moore, Kumaravel, Daniel Balaji, Nasser, Vijay Chandrasekhar, Suwayamsita Das, Bindu, Arunodayan plays the supportive roles. Siddhartha Nuni and Nagooran handles the camera and editing respectively, and stunt choreography is in charge of Dhilip Subbarayan, and has the dialogues by Madhan Karky. Apart from Captain Miller, Dhanush has his next release Vaathi directed by Venky Atluri which will be out on Februry 17th 2023.
