Dhanush's 50th film, produced by Sun Pictures and expected to be a fan favourite, has added an accomplished actor to its cast. Kalidas Jayaram, an actor who has appeared in films in both Malayalam and Tamil, has confirmed that he plays a significant role in the upcoming drama, which has been given the working title D50.
The movie is reported to be the directorial of Dhanush, who earliely helmed Pa Paandi. SJ Suryah and Vishnu Vishal, Dushara Vijayan essays the pivotal roles in the film. Kalidas revealed his participation in the project in an interview with a Malayalam media outlet. He expressed his excitement to work with Dhanush, who is one of his favourite actors.
He also lauded the director of the film for his vision and script. Kalidas did not divulge much details about his character or the plot of the film, but said that it will be a different and challenging role for him. Kalidas, who is the son of popular actor Jayaram made his debut as a child artist in Malayalam and later ventured into Tamil cinema with Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum and Oru Pakka Kathai.
He was recently seen in Natchathiram Nagargirathu Vikram, and known for his two Tamil anthology film debuts - Putham Pudhu Kaalai and Paava Kadhaigal, which won hearts. The young actor also to be seen along with Ulaganayagan's Indian 2, where he just wrapped his Taiwan schedule with the veteran actor.
D50 is expected to go on floors from April 2023 and will be shot in various locations across Chennai. The film is said to have a huge star cast and a high budget, and rumor has it that the film is an periodic gangster drama. The makers have not revealed the official title or the release date of the film yet. Fans are eagerly waiting for more updates on this milestone project of Dhanush.
