Vijay Sethupathi is gearing up to make his Bollywood debut through the movie 'Merry Christmas' and he will collaborate with Katrina Kaif for the first time. Merry Christmas is directed by Sriram Raghavan and this psychological thriller will most likely arrive in the theatres in December 2022 during the occasion of Christmas. 

Besides Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif, the movie will also feature Sanjay Kapoor, Tinnu Anand, and Vinay Pathak. On Christmas eve 2021, the filming for this movie began and it is now in its final phase.  The most recent reports indicate that the producers intend to release "Merry Christmas" around Christmas 2022, probably on December 23, competing with 'Cirkus' and 'Ganapath'.

Merry Christmas is bankrolled by Ramesh Taurani under his banner of Tips Industries. Earlier, a source close to the development reported about the movie's shooting by stating that seventy percent of the shooting was completed and the rest will be finished between this August and September after which it will be wrapped. 

However, according to some sources, Merry Christmas may be delayed in order to avoid a conflict with "Cirkus" and "Ganapath." On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi has lined up interesting projects, such as web series produced by Raj & DK and starring Varun Dhawan, "Mumbaikar," a Hindi remake of "Maanagaram," "Michael," with Sundeep Kishan, "Viduthalai," with Soori, and "Gandhi Talks," a silent film, and two of his unreleased flicks Idam Porul Yeval, and Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir.
