Karthi, the emerging big name in the South Indian film industry, is set to join hands with director Premkumar for one of his projects tentatively called ‘Karthi 27’. The filmmaker is best known for making the cult romance film ‘96’ starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha.
The latest buzz is that Karthi is in discussions to star in the film alongside veteran actor Arvind Swamy. If production on Karthi 27 goes as planned, Aravind Swamy will play a pivotal role. The much-anticipated film is said to be good for the whole family.
Karthi is on the verge of completing his upcoming film ‘Japan’, directed by Raju Murugan. The actor will move to his next with the hitmaker Nalan Kumarasamy following the completion of his ongoing venture. Karthi 27 is said to be bankrolled by his brother Suriya’s 2D Entertainment with cinematography Sathyan Sooryan.
The makers will officially announce the same when the dotted lines are signed. At present, Karthi is shooting a film with Nalan Kumarasamy. Sathyan Sooryan has been roped in as the cinematographer for Karthi27. This will mark Sooran and Karthi’s fourth collaboration.
