‘STR 48’ is a big-budget project produced by Kamal Haasan under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International. The film is said to have some historical period portions and will showcase Simbu in a never-seen-before avatar. The actor is currently in London, undergoing rigorous training for his role in the film. He is expected to start shooting for the film in August.

Now the buzzing  excitement as two of the most popular and talented actresses in India are reportedly set to join the cast of Simbu’s upcoming film ‘STR 48’. Keerthy Suresh, who won the National Award for her portrayal of legendary actress Savitri in ‘Mahanati’, and Deepika Padukone, who is one of the highest-paid and most sought-after stars in Bollywood, are said to play the main female lead and the parallel lead respectively in the film directed by Desingh Periasamy.

While there has been no official confirmation from the makers about the cast and crew of the film, sources close to the unit have revealed that both Keerthy Suresh and Deepika Padukone have been approached by the team and are likely to sign on the dotted line soon.

If this happens, it will be a dream come true for the fans of both the actresses, who have been eagerly waiting to see them share screen space with Simbu. Keerthy Suresh, who has been on a roll with back-to-back hits like ‘Saani Kaayidham’, ‘Dasara’ is also busy with several other projects in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. She will be seen next Mamannan opposite Udhayanidhi Stalin, Siren, Raghu Thatha, and Revolver Rita.

Deepika Padukone, who has been making headlines for her social media posts, has also been juggling multiple films in Hindi. She will be seen next in ‘Project 6’, where she plays a brave actioner. She last seen in Pathan’, which filled the box office very much.
