Trisha Krishnan, who is basking in the success of her recent films Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2, looking like she has reportedly bagged another big project in Kollywood. The actress has been roped in to play the female lead in Dhanush’s 50th film, which also marks his second directorial venture after Pa Paandi.
The film, which is tentatively titled D50, is produced by Sun Pictures and has music by A.R. Rahman. D50 is said to be a gangster drama that revolves around three brothers played by Dhanush, S.J. Suryah and Vishnu Vishal. The film also features Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles.
The shooting of the film is expected to commence soon. This will be the second time that Trisha and Dhanush will share screen space after Kodi, where Trisha played the lover turned chief antagonist of Dhanush. The duo is expected to create magic on screen with their chemistry and performance.
Trisha is currently busy with two other big-budget films in Tamil - Leo with Thalapathy Vijay and Vidaa Muyarchi with Ajith Kumar. She is also in talks with Kamal Haasan for his next film KH 234, which will be directed by Mani Ratnam.
Dhanush, on the other hand, is wrapping up his long-delayed film Captain Miller, which is directed by Karthik Subbaraj. He also has films with H. Vinoth, Mari Selvaraj and Anand L Rai in his kitty. D50 is Sun Pictures’ second collaboration with Dhanush as a production house after last year’s blockbuster hit Thiruchitrabalam. Earlier, they distributed three of his films - Padikkadavan, Mappillai and Aadukalam.
