Karthi  had a banner year in 2022, with three of his films—"Viruman," "Ponniyin Selvan," and "Sardar" becoming critically praised. Fans have been anticipating his next role in 'Japan' since the first poster was unveiled recently. Here's the most recent buzz about the actor's future work.

Filmmaker Prem Kumar gained notoriety in 2018 for his moving love story 96, which follows two people from high school into adulthood. Across all languages, audiences were impressed by Vijay Sethupathy and Trisha's performances. Word on the street has it that the director recently inked a deal to work with Karthi on a film that will be produced by 2D Entertainment.

Samantha and Sharwanand star in Telugu version of Jaanu (2020), which also directed by Prem Kumar. The Tamil remake of 96 made over Rs 50 crore at the box office. However, since the movie has not been announced, there is no official information available about the Prem Kumar-Karthi collaboration.

Speculative reports indicate that Karthi will play a man from the Madurai region in this film, which takes place in a rural place. Meanwhile, the actor can be seen in Ponniyin Selvan 2, directed by Maniratnam and set to premiere on April 28th, 2023. And he next film is Japan directed by Rajumurugan, known for his directorial  Joker, and was produced by Dream Warrior Pictures.
