Karthi gears up to take on an extraordinary role in his upcoming film, Karthi26. This time, he steps into the shoes of a passionate aficionado, a die-hard fan of none other than the legendary actor and politician, MGR. With the skilled guidance of Nalan Kumarasamy, the brilliant director behind the cult classic "Soodhu Kavvum," this movie promises to be a riotous comedy filled to the brim with nods and winks to MGR's unforgettable movies and mesmerizing melodies.

Through the marvels of computer graphics, the larger-than-life presence of MGR himself will grace the screen, even in a special role. Fans to get the blend of nostalgia and innovation as the lines between reality and cinema blur, weaving a tapestry of laughter and fun.

The film, which is produced by Studio Green Gnanavel Raja, has Santhosh Narayanan as the music composer and Keerthy Shetty as one of the female leads. The film is said to have two powerful titles under consideration - Rathathin Rathame and Vaa Vaathiyare - both of which are inspired by MGR’s popular songs. 

Karthi, who has recently wrapped up his shooting for Raju Murugan’s Japan, which is based on the life of a notorious jewel thief who died of AIDS, will resume his shooting for Nalan Kumarasamy’s film soon. Japan is slated to release on Diwali and will showcase another dimension of Karthi as an actor.

Karthi is also awaiting the release of his other big projects such as Ponniyin Selvan 2 and Sardar, in which he plays historical and political characters respectively. Karthi is having a dream run for the past couple of years with films like Sulthan, Viruman and Ponniyin Selvan 1.
