The much-awaited film of Karthi and Nalan Kumarasamy, tentatively titled Karthi 26, has finally got a name. The film is said to be a quirky comedy with Karthi playing a hardcore fan of MGR. He will be seen sporting different looks inspired by MGR’s iconic roles in various films. The film will also have a lot of references and tributes to MGR’s songs, dialogues and scenes.

According to sources, the film will be called Vaa Vaathiyare, translated as “Welcome Teacher” in Tamil. The title is a reference to the popular song of MGR, the legendary actor and politician who is revered by millions of Tamils.

The film is currently in the pre production stage and is expected to announce soon. The film marks the first collaboration of Karthi and Nalan Kumarasamy, who is known for his dark comedies like Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum.

The upcoming film also stars Krithi Shetty, the sensational actress who made her debut with Uppena in Telugu. She will be playing the love interest of Karthi in the film. Vaa Vaathiyare promises to be a fun-filled entertainer that will appeal to both the fans of Karthi and MGR.

The official announcement regarding the title and the first look poster will be made soon by the makers. The actor is currently pursuing for Japan, with Rajumurugan. The film will be wrapped up very soon, as the team is now shooting for a song in Kashmir.
