After impressing the audience with his stellar performance as Arunmozhi Varman in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, Jayam Ravi is gearing up for his next film with Nithya Menen. The film, which has been tentatively titled ‘JR 33’ now have some exciting deets for the fans.

The versatile actor Jayam Ravi, who has been delivering back-to-back hits in various genres, is all set to team up with director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, who is known for her films like ‘Vanakkam Chennai’ and ‘Kaali’. The film will be produced by Red Giant Movies, the home banner of Kiruthiga’s husband and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin. Reports indicate that the upcoming film "JR 33" will be a romantic comedy with an unusual plot.

A.R. Rahman, who scored Jayam Ravi's previous hit films in the "Ponniyin Selvan" series and the upcoming fantasy film "Genie," will score this one as well. This will be Jayam Ravi and A.R. Rahman's fourth time working together.

‘JR 33’ will go on floors soon after Jayam Ravi wraps up his other commitments. The actor has a busy schedule ahead of him, with films like ‘Siren’, ‘Iraivan’, ‘Jana Gana Mana’ and ‘Genie’ in various stages of production. Meanwhile Nithya Menon lastly seen in Thiruchitrambalam, and stole many hearts with her flowing natural performance.

JR 33’ is expected to be a refreshing and entertaining film that will showcase the chemistry between Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen. The film will also mark the comeback of Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi as a director after a gap of four years. She lastly helmed a webseries, Paper Rocket which debuted in Zee5.
