The talented filmmaker who gave us the blockbuster ‘Premam’ and the recent ‘Gold’ is back with another intriguing project. Alphonse Puthren has announced his next Tamil film titled ‘Gift’, which will feature the legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja.
The director took to Twitter to share the poster of the film, which features the title 'Gift' in a captivating style. The film’s story, screenplay, dialogues, editing, colour grading and direction are all handled by Puthren, who is known for his unique style and vision.
The film’s music and lyrics are composed by Ilaiyaraaja, who will also sing one of the seven songs in the film. This is the first time that the maestro is collaborating with Puthren, who had earlier met him and expressed his admiration.
The film stars Sandy, Kovai Sarala, Sahana Sarvesh, Magalakshmi Sudarshan, Sampath Raj, Raahul, Charlie, Raichal Rabecca, Crawford, Gopalan Palakkad and Cycle Mani. The film is produced by Raahul of Romeo Pictures and the cinematography is by Aviral Jha. The film is already on floors and is expected to release soon.
‘Gift’ is Puthren’s third Tamil film after ‘Neram’ and ‘Premam’, both of which were bilinguals in Malayalam and Tamil. His last film ‘Gold’, which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, was a Malayalam film that received mixed reviews from the critics and the audience. Puthren will be hoping to bounce back with ‘Gift’, which promises to be a refreshing and entertaining film for the Tamil audience.
