Tough hands of judiciary on the banner accused!

The Madras High court had turned tough towards the banner accused while hearing the bail petition tabled  by the accused who is currently under judicial custody after being at large nearly for the fortnight since he was accused with killing 23 year old Chennai based techie, who died after the banner erected by him had allegedly crashed on her.

While listing out the bail petition of the accused former ADMK Councillor Jayagopal, the state's top judicial body had taken into hearing today where Jayagopal, through his counsel, had said that he had no role to play in the erection of illegal banners and stated that his fellow party men had put up the banners on either sides of the road after which he had sought bail from the high court. During his argument, the high court bench had asked the reason for the fortnight hideout if he doesn't have active role.

By placing the response, Jayagopal had asserted the medical reasons as his justification for not abiding with the investigations and by rebutting that, the Madras High court had turned tough against the accused by stating that he had killed a daughter of the another house for the sake of welcoming his daughter in law to his house. After hearing the notions of both side of the aisle, the High court had issued directives to the police department on the bail petition further to which, the hearing has been postponed day after tomorrow.

On September 12, 23 year old Chennai based techie Subhasree was reportedly killed by one of the hundreds of banners that were erected either sides and on the divider of one of the busiest roads in Chennai by Jayagopal for the sake of inviting the state's Chief and Deputy Chief ministers for his son's wedding that was later attended by the Deputy Chief minister of the state. On afternoon of September 12, Subhasree was driving to her home from office where one of the banners had allegedly hit her vehicle following which she was thrown on the middle of the road by losing her drive after which she was rammed by the truck that was driving behind her that had eventually killed her.

Being accused for erecting illegal banners without obtaining consent from the concerned authorities, the police department had booked a complaint against Jayagopal after which he was purportedly on large for over two weeks and on September 27th, the Chennai city police had detained him from the hideout in Krishnagiri district.
