On the top of the seven tallest mountains on seven continents: Meet 22-year-old Poorna, India's wonder woman!

India's young mountaineer Poorna Malavath has become the talk of the nation as a wonder woman. This 22-year-old has been standing tall on the peak of the seven tallest mountains on all the seven continents. She has etched a global history and by accomplishing her mission, she has become the only woman in the world to conquer all the seven tallest mountains.

She is a native of Nizamabad, Telangana and she is a daughter of form labourers and belongs to a tribal community.  22-year-old Poorna has accomplished her mission after reaching the peak of Mount Denali (6,190 metres), which is the tallest mountain in North America and sits in the US state of Alaska. She has previously conquered Mt Everest (Asia), Kilimanjaro (Asia), Mt Elbrus (Europe), Mt Aconcagua (South America), Puncak Jaya Mt Carstenze Pyramid (Oceania), Mt Vinson (Antarctica), and Mt Denali (North America. 

In the midst of pursuing a Post Graduation Degree at Osmania University in Hyderabad, Poorna has been nurturing to be an iconic mountaineer. Shekhar Babu, Poorna Malavath's coach has confirmed that she has completed the mission of scaling to the top of the seven tallest peaks on seven continents. Babu said, "Poorna Malavath spoke over satellite phone after coming to lower camps from the summit (Mt Denali) and shared the news of her successful summit. She is very happy to climb this mountain."

After successfully completing the Seven Summit Challenge, Poorna said, "It all started with Chairman of Ace Engineering Academy, Dr Praveen Kumar sir. I always thank him for motivating me in my mountaineering journey. The opportunity given by Dr Praveen Kumar sir will always be cherished by me. He trained me a lot and was always supportive of my profession. With his proper guidance, I have scaled up in this field and feel truly humbled." 

She further said that Mt Denali has proven to be a much harder passage than Mr Everest. She stated, "It was a very different experience for me because every mountain has its own difficulties. I had to train for two-three months. I had to work very hard. I had to work on my diet and exercise regularly. Climbing Mt Denali was very tough but my passion took me to the top. I thank those who have supported me." 

Poorna was accompanied by Ajeet Bajaj, Padma Shri recipient in Adventure sports, Deeya Bajaj, Anmish Varma from Visakhapatnam and Varma, a mountaineer. Poorna holds the world record for conquering the world's highest peak Mt Everest at the age of 13 in May 2014. Her record has also been adapted into a movie by Rahul Bose in the form of a biopic 'Poorna: Courage has no limits'.
