It's nearly three decades since AR Rahman composed one of his everlasting tracks 'Tamizha Tamizha' in 1992 released movie 'Roja' and the track still withstands across the ages for its perfect pitch on the unity in diversity. The track which was carved with the ingredients of powerful lyrics and feel-good music had seeded a strong tone of 'united as one' and the track has now been reprised by 65 renowned singers in five languages in a unique style and pride of enhancing the voice of 'together as one'.
AR Rahman has shared the message of recreation of the classic song, with new voices and never-ending pride, on Saturday, when the nation marked its 74th Independence day. The musical maestro took to Twitter and said, " Happy to be releasing #TogetherAsOne, a track of unity during these difficult times! 65 Singers have come together to present this Thamizha Thamizha reprise for a very important cause"
In what has become a perfect reprise to the original track, the song features 65 singers across the nation who have come together and made it as what it has been expected. The singers have sung 'Tamizha Tamizha' in five languages in celebration of this year's Independence Day.

AR Rahman has also shared the link of the song and it features renowned singers SP Balasubramanyam, who is currently battling for survival after getting infected by COVID-19 pandemic, KS Chitra, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Srinivas, Unnikrishnan, Mano, Shweta Mohan, Janaki Iyer, Ramya NSK, Saindhavi, SP Charan, Rahul Nambiar, and Mahalakshmi Iyer with Indian rapper BlaaZe making a special appearance. The song, titled as 'Together as One' is doing rounds on the internet since it was released as it has got a sounding reception. It was curated by Srinivas, Rahul Nambiar, and Aalaap Raju and mixed and mastered by Ishit Kuberkar.
The song and video were produced and released by United Singers Charitable Trust, a not for profit entity founded by playback singer Srinivas with Unnikrishnan, Sujatha Mohan, Rahul Nambiar, and Ranjith Govind as the trustees and the entity is aiming to generate funds to support the singers and musicians of the musical fraternity in distress during difficult times.
As AR Rahman said, the reprise of the classic song is for a very important cause. The song was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Through this song, the trust has planned to raise funds for singers and musicians who have been struggling in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. The reports say the group has also been planning to organize a global concert in September to generate funds. Each singer had made their part from their respective homes and it was efficaciously edited and presented and it has become a perfect reprise of reiterating the voice and call for 'United as One' and 'Together as One'.
