TN police slapped Goondas Act against the associates of the 'Karuppar Koottam' channel!

The Tamil Nadu police department has booked a case against Surendra Natarajan, who anchored the video on the Karuppar Koottam Youtube channel that surfaced controversies for making derogatory remarks against Hindu God Murugan and the devotional song 'Kandha Sashti Kavacham', under the grounds of the Goondas Act on Monday. 

The slapping of the Goondas Act against the Youtuber has come ten days he surrendered before the Puducherry police amid massive outrage from the Hindu groups and outfits. According to the reports, the order of imposing the Goondas act was issued by Chennai Police Commissioner Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal. 

Earlier, the Tamil Nadu BJP unit has moved its complaint to the Cybercrime police against the Youtube channel for demeaning the Hindu god and devotional song. Based on the complaint, the Central Crime Branch has booked a case under sections 153 - intent to cause a riot, 153 (A)(1)(a)- promoting enmity between different groups, section 295(P), - intent to insult the religion of any class, 505 (1)(b) and 505 (2) - public mischief of the Indian Penal Code. 

Last week, the cybercrime ploce had removed all the videos that were published on the Youtube channel. On July 15, the police had apprehended Senthil Vasan of Velachery who was attached to the Karuppar Koottam channel, and the following day, Surendra Natarajan, who was presenting the video, had surrendered before Puducherry police following which he was taken by the Tamil Nadu police. 

Following the arrest, the crime branch had detained Somasundaram and Guhan, who belong to Otteri and Maraimalai Nagar respectively, who were technicians of the Youtube channel. The BJP leaders and members of the Hindu outfits had carried out protests against the channel for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and they urged to initiate stern action against the responsible. 

Actor and political hopeful Rajinikanth had lauded the government's action and intervention against the issue and he claimed the derogatory remarks against the devotional song can't be forgotten in the lifetime. According to the latest reports, the police department, has on Tuesday, slapped Goondas Act against Senthil Vasan, who was associated with the channel, following Surendra Natarajan.
