TN Police arrest a man for his bomb threat call to MK Stalin's residence in Chennai!

The Tamil Nadu Police have arrested a man for giving a hoax bomb threat call to Chief Minister MK Stalin's residence in Chennai. The preliminary inquiries had revealed that the accused is a drug-addictor and further probe is underway. 

According to reports, 32-year-old Thamarai Kannan, who is a native of Suthamalli village in the Tirunelveli district, has made a hoax call to the police control room and said that he had planted bombs at the residence of Chief Minister MK Stalin.  

On Wednesday, the police control room has received a bomb threat call in which Thamarai Kannan had claimed that he had planted bombs at the residence of the Chief Minister. He further said that he also had kept bombs at the Chennai airport. Based on his call, the bomb detection and disposal squad had conducted a search in and around the Chief Minister's residence and the airport. 

After the search, the officials found that no bombs were planted and that the bomb threat call has been a hoax. The officials had begun tracking the number of the caller and the police traced the caller to Tirunelveli. Thamarai Kannan was then arrested for giving the bomb threat call. The police have recorded the confessions of Kannan's friends who said that he was a drug addict. Further probe is underway into the incident.
