Tamil Nadu Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Udhayanidhi Stalin has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter's residence in Delhi on Tuesday - February 28. In what has become an interesting affair, it is the first time that Udhayanidhi Stalin has had a rendezvous with Narendra Modi after becoming a minister in the cabinet led by his father MK Stalin.
Udhayanidhi has embarked two-day trip to Delhi on Monday with a pack of crucial agenda. As the first leg of his tour, Udhayanidhi Stalin attended the family function of former Tamil Nadu Governor and current Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit. Earlier on Tuesday, Udhayanidhi Stalin has met Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Shri Giriraj Singh and discussed about the Panchayat Raj projects that are being implemented in Tamil Nadu.
After wrapping up the meet with Giriraj Singh, Udhayanidhi has reached the Prime Minister's residence and met Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister welcomed the visiting Tamil Nadu Minister to his residence as they come face-to-face perhaps for the first time. After meeting Narendra Modi, Udhayanidhi Stalin will be meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, with whom he will discuss Tamil Nadu's ideas on augmenting sports corridor in the state.
Udhayanidhi will continue his tour on Wednesday where he will be meeting senior leaders of the opposition parties and will invite them for the 70th birthday celebrations of Chief Minister MK Stalin on March 1.
He will also visit the newly constructed DMK's office in Delhi. According to sources, Udhayanidhi will play out as a torchbearer for Tamil Nadu government's measures to augment sports in the state. Not restricting himself only to urge the centre's assistance for the state's sports development, Udhayanidhi Stalin would also press the NEET issue directly to the central government.
