TN Health Secy J Radhakrishnan under isolation as his family tests positive for COVID-19!

The family members of Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan, including his wife and son, have been tested positive for the COVID-19 pandemic, reports say. 

Following the development, Radhakrishnan has undergone testing for the viral infection and his result spelled negative for the virus. According to the reports, the parents-in-law of the bureaucrat had arrived from Madurai last week and they went through the testing for the infection. Their results returned positive on Saturday after which they have been admitted at the King Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research in Guindy. 

Two days later, on Monday, Radhakrishnan's wife and son tested positive for the viral infection following which they were also shifted to the King Institute of Preventive Medicine and all four of them are getting treated under isolation. Along with the family members, two maids of the family had also been tested positive for the pandemic.

The reports say that Health Secretary Radhakrishnan, who has been caught with the crucial job of curbing the spread in the state, has isolated himself at the state guesthouse after his family members tested positive. The bureaucrat's results have been negative. 

Dr. Radhakrishnan has taken over his long-held post of Tamil Nadu Health Secretary from Beela Rajesh on June 12, at the high time when Tamil Nadu has been witnessing a rapid spread of the virus in the state. Radhakrishnan, who has been regarded as an expert in disaster management tasks, has been on the ground along with the frontline workers in implementing the relief efforts in Chennai and across the state.

Previously, he was appointed as the Special Nodal Officer of Chennai Corporation in containing the spread. At the current state, Chennai has been paving a major contribution in the state's COVID-19 tally along with the active contribution from the rest of the districts. As of Monday, Tamil Nadu has reported 1,75,678 cases so far of which 51,348 are active, 1,21,776 have been recovered, and 2,551 had succumbed to the virus.
