TN BJP President Annamalai's first statement after KT Raghavan's video: He denies what Madan had claimed!

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai, a former IPS officer, has issued his first statement after a shocking video that was posted on YouTube in which Tamil Nadu BJP General Secretary KT Raghavan was seen indulging in sexual acts during an explicit video call with a woman. The video was a bolt from the blue moment for the saffron camp and beyond as it has dismayed the party cadres and sparked outrage against Raghavan and the party.

YouTuber Madan Ravichandran, who joined the BJP last October, has published a sting video on his channel 'Madan Diary' on Monday in which KT Raghavan was seen speaking with a woman in a video call and indulging in a sexual act. Releasing the sting video, Madan has said that Raghavan's sexual act had shocked the woman and accused the BJP leaders of sexually harassing multiple women and the YouTuber further said that the party leaders had specific locations in Chennai where they will involve in such acts.

Madan said that he had come to know that there have been several sexual harassments in the party where he joined last year and alleged that the leaders in the party are forcing women to indulge in such sexual acts and exploiting them under the guise of power. He further said that he had the video in his possession for some time and the sting operation had taken several months. By citing that he has sting videos of around 15 BJP leaders, Madan said that he had picked to publish KT Raghavan's video first as the latter claims to be Mr Clean.

After the video was released, it has stunned the people and earned more aversions to the party and on Tuesday, KT Raghavan had met state BJP President Annamalai and after the meeting, Raghavan took to social media and announced that he has resigned from the post of General Secretary of the party. He maintained that the video was released with the motive of degrading him and the party and added that the people of Tamil Nadu and the party cadres know who he is and claimed that he is serving for the past thirty years without expecting any grant.

"I met and consulted with K Annamalai. I resign from the party's responsibility. I deny the allegations and I will meet (the issue) legally. Dharma will win", Raghavan added. In his video, Madan has claimed that the video was published with the backing of Annamalai and said that Annamalai had also seen the video and told Madan to release it to serve justice to the woman on the call. Madan had also put the WhatsApp chat with Annamalai in which the latter supports the release of the video. However, hours after the release of the video, Annamalai has issued his first statement concerning KT Raghavan's video in which the state BJP president had denied what Madan had claimed.

In what has become a paradox, Annamalai said, "It's true that YouTuber Madan Ravinchandran had met and talked to me. When he first met me in the party's office, he said that he possesses video evidence against the senior leaders and asked to take immediate action against them. I affirmed to him that fact-checking must have to be done to know the fact and told him that strict action will be taken against them if the allegations on them proved to be true. So, I have asked him to submit the video evidence and said that action will be taken after testifying the video and its content. However, Madan had refused to produce the evidence to me."

Annamalai further penned, "When Madan Ravichandran had met me in the office the next day, he said that there has been robust video evidence and urged me to take action against them (the leaders). However, I asked Madan for the second day to produce the evidence that he had. Madan had sent a message to my phone as his third attempt and asked me whether there will be any justice or action on what I have requested. He also reiterated that the party should take immediate action without making a delay. Madan had also sent a message to me that he will release the video if no action was taken."

"However, I was firm in my decision that no action should be taken without knowing the facts. Hence, I had briefly replied to him and said that he is free to release the video. This morning, I spoke with KT Raghavan and he told me that the allegation against him was fabricated using high technology with the motive of degrading him and causing disrepute to the party's name. KT Raghavan told me that he will face this issue legally and as per the party's ethics, he told me that he is resigning from the party's post. I have accepted his resignation. I believe that KT Raghavan will face this issue legally", Annamalai added.

The former IPS officer further said, "Similarly, Madan Ravichandran said in his video that there are many videos of several leaders which will be published and his statement stirs a sense on whether he has any certain motive behind this and that is totally unacceptable. In BJP, where tradition and legacy are preserved, the women who are with the party are very safe and are respected." Annamalai has announced that a committee will be formed under the leadership of state BJP secretary Malarkodi to fact-check the videos and to enquire about the allegations. The state BJP President further said that the party won't take any responsibility for Madan's video as he hasn't produced any evidence to the party when he was asked to. He added that the concerned people have to bear the responsibility for their actions.
