A TN BJP leader is arrested by police for giving a shocking threat: Here's what happened!

Tamil Nadu police had arrested a BJP leader in connection to a shocking threat and he was booked under non-bailable sections. The Tamil Nadu BJP unit had held protests across the state to demand the ruling DMK government to decrease the state tax on fuel and decrease the price of petrol and diesel. Recently, amid the soaring fuel price, the Union government had decreased the central tax and appealed to the state governments to lower the state tax, which will further decrease the price of the fuel.

While some states had reduced the VAT on petrol and diesel, others including Tamil Nadu didn't reduce the tax. It must be noted that Tamil Nadu had earlier reduced the petrol price to Rs 3 per litre as per the DMK's poll promise in the 2021 assembly elections. However, under the claim that the state government had failed to reduce the tax, the state BJP unit has been conducting protests across Tamil Nadu to urge the government to reduce the VAT.

As each district had held protests, the Ariyalur district had also organized a protest which was attended by the party's district president Ayyappan. During the protest, Ayyapan has urged the Tamil Nadu government to reduce the VAT on petrol and diesel. He said that the DMK government, which came to power, by claiming to do welfare for the people must decrease the tax. In what had become a shocking threat, Ayyappan said if the state government fails to reduce the tax, then the BJP cadres will carry out suicide attacks.

Following a shocking threat from a BJP leader, the local Village Administrative Officer Kanagaraj had filed a complaint against Ayyappan in which he said that Ayyappan had spoken in a fashion of instigating communal violence and destroying the law and order in the state. Based on the complaint, the Ariyalur police had filed a case against Ayyappan and over fifty others under non-bailable sections. Ayyappan and others were then produced before the Ariyalur court after which they were arrested and lodged in the Jeyankondam prison.
