The Tamil Nadu BJP unit woke to an immense shock on Tuesday after a video, that was published on YouTube, had shown the party's general secretary KT Raghavan indulging in a sexual act in a video call with a woman. The video has become the talk of the town and stirred shockwaves among and beyond the party. As the sequel of the video which sparked outrage and aversion against the party, KT Raghavan has resigned from his post on Tuesday, moments after meeting Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai.
YouTuber Madan Ravichandran, who joined the BJP last October, has published a sting video on his channel 'Madan Diary' in which KT Raghavan was seen speaking with a woman in a video call and indulging in a sexual act. Releasing the sting video, Madan has said that Raghavan's sexual act had shocked the woman and accused the BJP leaders of sexually harassing multiple women and the YouTuber further said that the party leaders had specific locations in Chennai where they will involve in such acts.
Madan said that he had come to know that there have been several sexual harassments in the party where he joined last year and alleged that the leaders in the party are forcing women to indulge in such sexual acts and exploiting them under the guise of power. He further said that he had the video in his possession for some time and the sting operation had taken several months. By revealing that he has sting videos of around 15 BJP leaders, Madan said that he had picked to publish KT Raghavan's video first as the latter claims to be Mr Clean.
Madan has affirmed that the video was published with the backing of Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai and said that Annamalai had also seen the video and told Madan to release it to serve justice to the woman on the call. Madan had also pictured the WhatsApp chat with Annamalai in which the latter supports the release of the video against KT Raghavan. However, Annamalai is yet to officially comment on the development.
As the video had shocked the party cadres and the state, KT Raghavan has on Tuesday met Annamalai and after the meeting, Raghavan has announced his resignation from the post of party's General Secretary and maintained that the video was released with the motive of degrading him and the party and added that the people of Tamil Nadu and the party cadres know who he is and claimed that he is serving for the past thirty years without expecting any grant. "I met and consulted with K Annamalai. I resign from my party responsibility. I deny the allegations and I will meet (the issue) legally. Dharma will win", Raghavan added.
