TN BJP files police complaint against Bigg Boss Tamil fame for tweeting 'Go Back Modi'!

Tamil Nadu BJP unit has filed a police complaint against Bigg Boss Tamil fame actor Oviya, a day after she voiced against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chennai. Oviya took to Twitter and posted the hashtag #GoBackModi, which was trending on the microblogging site to hold the banner of dissent against the Prime Minister's visit to Chennai. 

The legal wing of the state unit of the central ruling party has moved its complaint to the Cyber Cell on Sunday and urged the department to initiate action against Oviya for her tweet opposing Modi's visit. The complaint was tabled before the Superintendent of Police, Cyber Cell and by seeking probe against the Bigg Boss fame, the BJP has also demanded the police department to investigate Oviya's intentions behind the tweet that whether she has tweeted with the motive of instigating public disorder during the Prime Minister's visit. 

On Saturday, a day ahead of Modi's visit, Oviya took to Twitter and posted the hashtag #GoBackModi, which had been trending on the social media platform. She hadn't left any messages and just used the hashtag and moments after her tweet, it had caught major attention, stirred controversy, and got countered by the Modi supporters. A day after her tweet, the Tamil Nadu BJP unit had filed a complaint to take action against the Bigg Boss fame.

BJP's state secretary had alleged that China and Sri Lanka were working with the likes of Oviya to create law and order issues against India's sovereignty. Despite the lack of proof, the secretary claimed that some of the political parties are also involving in activities that could harm and distort peace, law, and order in and around Chennai. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Chennai on Sunday to inaugurate several projects and to dedicate armory to the Indian Army. He reached Chennai at 10.30 am on Sunday and took part in the event that was organized in Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. He launched the projects in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami, his Deputy Panneerselvam, ministers, and dignitaries.

The Prime Minister had also dedicated the 'Arjun Mk-1A' tank, which was made in India, to the Indian Army, and following the inauguration, he addressed the event and began his speech in Tamil, and mentioned Tamil poets. Amid the speculation, his visit didn't carry any space for a political speech or political meeting and he was in Chennai for three hours. 

However, the Prime Minister had a brief informal meeting with Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami following which he left Chennai for Kochi around 1.30 pm. The Prime Minister took to Twitter and said, "Thank you Chennai! Overwhelmed by the affectionate welcome".
