Thalaivar 170 Buzz: Rajinikanth to star team up with this Telugu star for the first time!

Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to wow his fans with his upcoming film ‘Thalaivar 170’, which will be directed by TG Gnanavel, the maker of the critically acclaimed ‘Jai Bhim’. Thalaivar 170, which is produced by Lyca Productions, and was officially announced by Lyca Productions on March 2, 2023, on the occasion of their chairman Subaskaran’s birthday.

Now the reports from film insiders' source reveals that the film will also feature Telugu actor Nani and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. Nani is to play a special cameo which goes around 20 - 30 minutes. The film is expected to be a gripping cop thriller based on real-life events and will have a strong social message. The look test also done for the Superstar today. The auditions are also currently phasing up for the other cast members, and the shooting is to kickstart soon.

This will be the fourth collaboration between Rajinikanth and Lyca Productions, after their successful films ‘2.O’, ‘Darbar’ and ‘Lal Salaam’. The latter is currently under production and will be directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya. Rajinikanth will reportedly play a cameo role in the sports drama, which will also feature Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will be seen in his 169th film ‘Jailer’, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film, which also stars Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu and Vinayakan, is said to be set in a prison. The film is hitting the screens, on 10th August 2023.

‘Thalaivar 170’ will mark the first time that Rajinikanth will share screen space with Nani, who is one of the most popular actors in Telugu cinema. Nani has delivered several hits like ‘Jersey’, ‘Gang Leader’ and ‘V’. He is currently working on his upcoming film ‘Shyam Singha Roy’, which is a fantasy drama.

The film will also mark the reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after 32 years. The two legends have worked together in films like ‘Andha Kanoon’, ‘Geraftaar’ and ‘Hum’. Amitabh Bachchan will reportedly play a pivotal role in the film, which will be a treat for their fans.
