The upcoming film of superstar Rajinikanth, tentatively titled Thalaivar170, has created a lot of buzz among the fans and the media. The film, which will be directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions, is expected to go on floors soon and release in 2024. The music for the film will be composed by the rockstar Anirudh Ravichander.

While the official announcement of the film was made on March 2, 2023, on the occasion of Lyca Productions chairman Subaskaran’s birthday, there have been speculations about the cast and crew of the film. 

Sources say that Action King Arjun has agreed to star in the film after hearing the script and learning more about his character. It would be the first time Rajini and Arjun shared the screen together if the bill went through.

Arjun, who is known for his action-packed roles and stunts, has been a part of many successful films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. He has also worked with some of the biggest stars in the industry, such as Chiranjeevi, Ajith and Mahesh Babu, and even with Vijay for the upcoming Leo. However, he has never worked with Rajinikanth before, which makes this collaboration even more exciting for the fans.

Thalaivar170 is said to be an action-entertainer with a social message. The film will showcase Rajinikanth in a cop role. And the plot according film insiders, around a retired cop fights against fake encounter on innocent people.

The film will also have a strong female lead, who is yet to be finalized. The makers are planning to rope in some of the best technicians from across the country for this mega-budget project. Rajinikanth, who is currently busy with his other films Jailer and Lal Salaam, will join the sets of Thalaivar170 after wrapping up his commitments.
