Thalaivar 169: Sun Pictures reveals who is directing Rajinikanth in his next...Any guesses?

In what has become a big revelation over who is going to direct Superstar Rajinikanth in his next film that has been tentatively named 'Thalaivar 69', the production house Sun Pictures has made an announcement that has made the fans go frenzy. The announcement has taken everyone into surprise as the Dadasaheb Phalke Award laureate will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, a filmmaker who is gaining more prominence through his direction. 

Nelson Dilipkumar is on his way to mark his hat-trick victory through his next movie Beast in which he directs Vijay. Earlier, he had given two successful films of 'Kolamavu Kokila' and 'Doctor'. He is busy with Beast and amid speculations over his next project, little did the fans predict that he will be joining hands with Rajinikanth for the first time. Interestingly, Nelson Dilipkumar has won the prospect of directing the Superstar of the Tamil cinema in his fourth movie.

Sun Pictures had unveiled the announcement at 6 pm on Thursday- February 10 and it has turned heads in a short span of time. The production house took to Twitter and wrote, "Presenting Superstar Rajinikanth's #Thalaivar169 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar." It has further revealed that the music will be composed by Anirudh. Following Pa Ranjith, Karthik Subbaraj, and Siruthai Siva, Nelson has become a new-age director to direct Rajinikanth. 

The announcement has been going super viral across and beyond the borders and at the same time, the spotlight of expectation has been growing brighter on Nelson Dilipkumar. Thalaivar 169 will also give a crucial push to Nelson Dilipkumar in his cinema career. The reports say that Nelson has won a double delight from Sun Pictures as it is already been bankrolling his movie Beast. 

In its Tweet on Thursday, Sun Pictures had also shared a video clip that electrifies the viewers. It runs for 57 seconds and Rajinikanth is as classy as he is ever been. The reports say that the team will hit the shooting by next month. Anirudh will be composing music and while Anirudh will play music for Nelson's fourth consecutive film, he will be working with Rajinikanth for the third time, after Petta and Darbar. 

This will be Rajinikanth's next big release after Annaatthe, which was also produced by Sun Pictures. Responding to the announcement from Sun Pictures that he is going to direct Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar said, "Feeling elated to announce my next film with the legendary superstar Rajinikanth sir, happy to have associated with Sun Pictures and my dearest friend Anirudh once again. (sic)." Anirudh wrote, "One and only Superstar Rajinikanth. Nelson Dilipkumar directorial and Sun Pictures. We are back with #Thalaivar169."
