The Tamil film industry is witnessing a major crisis as five popular actors are facing the risk of getting red cards from the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) for allegedly causing losses and inconvenience to the producers. The actors are Silambarasan TR, Vishal, SJ Suryah, Yogi Babu and Atharvaa.

According to reports from TOI, the TFPC has accused these actors of taking advance payments from the producers but not giving proper dates for shooting. This has resulted in delays and financial troubles for the filmmakers. The TFPC has also claimed that some of these actors have left their projects midway or have not repaid their loans.

The TFPC has sought the intervention of the Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Artistes’ Association) to resolve these issues. The president of TFPC, Thenandal Murali, has said that they have not issued red cards yet, but they have requested the Nadigar Sangam president Nasser to mediate between the two parties and sort out the problems.

“If things are not resolved even after that, we will urge producers to stop working with these actors and boycott them,” Murali has warned. The red card is a serious action taken by the TFPC against actors who violate their contracts or behave unprofessionally.

It means that the actor will not be allowed to work in any Tamil film until they clear their dues or settle their disputes with the producers. The red card can have a devastating impact on an actor’s career, as it can affect their reputation and future opportunities.

The TFPC had previously issued red cards to actors years back for similar reasons., notably actors Vadivelu and Simbu.  However, both of them managed to sort out their issues and resume their work later. The five actors who are currently in trouble have not responded to the allegations yet. They are all busy with their upcoming projects and have a loyal fan base. It remains to be seen how they will deal with this situation and whether they will be able to avoid the red card.
