If you look at the history and the list of reputed and hardworking IAS officers in Tamil Nadu, P Amudha will indisputably hold an important place as her name has been one of the most heard in the state and the fraternity of the administrative officers and now her name would be heard in Delhi as she has been appointed as a Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office.
With the key and one of the crucial appointments in the Prime Minister's Office, Amudha goes to Delhi by carrying a vast experience in the administrations and the pivotal leadership of handling and implementing the initiatives. According to the reports, Amudha has currently been working as a professor in the public administration in the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.
P Amudha is a 1994 batch IAS officer from Tamil Nadu and in the last 25 years, she has worked in 15 different departments in the state and she is one of the IAS officers to serve under both former Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa. Her appointment to the Prime Minister's Office has come as part of the administrational shuffle of appointing 16 officials from different departments.
Amudha was serving as the Commissioner of Food Safety and Drug Administration in Tamil Nadu before joining as a Professor. During her tenure as the Commissioner, she concentrated on bringing down the usage of fertilizers and artificial pesticides by farmers in the wake of increasing agricultural productivity.
She also had served as the District Collector of Dharmapuri district during which she focused on curbing the grounds of female infanticide and increasing the female literacy rate in the district. Amudha was largely known across the state when she was responsible for the last rites of former Chief Minister Karunanidhi.
Amid the controversy over burying the five times Chief Minister of the state, she discharged her duty to ensure that the deceased leader has a smooth last rite. Amudha IAS has been regarded for her dedication and her way of exhibiting leadership in her roles under different administrations and governments.
After the news of her appointment in the Prime Minister's Office broke out, Amudha has been rained with appreciations and compliments as she is one of the top IAS officers from Tamil Nadu moving to Delhi and at one of the top posts in the PM's Office.The reports stated that she will hold the post of Joint Secretary till 2022.
