Tamil Nadu is successfully curbing Covid pandemic: 22 districts report zero cases for the first time!

The recent Covid reportings have shown that Tamil Nadu is steadily winning the battle against the Covid pandemic as the number of fresh cases and active caseload have been reducing sharply, so is the number of deaths. The fresh cases are significantly plummeting and the state has been getting the scenes where the Covid wave is being curbed and Tamil Nadu's health infrastructure is ready to address any such waves of the pandemic in the future. 

On Monday- March 21, Tamil Nadu has reported only 52 fresh Covid cases and 22 districts have reported zero Covid cases. It is for the first time that the massive scale of districts had recorded zero Covid cases. As per the data from the state health ministry, Tamil Nadu has reported 52 cases on Monday and the highest number of Covid-19 cases was reported in Chennai with 19 cases, followed by Chengalpattu with six cases, and Thanjavur with four cases. 

The data had shown that 22 districts have reported zero Covid cases. With 31,536 samples being tested for Covid-19 on Monday, the overall Test Positivity Rate (TPR) stood at 0.2 per cent. On the other hand, Tamil Nadu continues to record zero Covid deaths for the past few deaths and the same trend had remained on Monday. 

According to the health ministry, Tamil Nadu has reported 52 cases, 96 discharges, and zero deaths on Monday. Overall, the state has recorded 34,52,442 Covid cases so far as of Monday of which 576 are active, 34,13,841 were discharged, and 38,025 had succumbed to the viral infection. Of the total 576 active cases, Chennai has accounted for 200 of them, followed by Chengalpattu with 68, and Coimbatore with 49 cases.
