This Tamil Nadu Minister turns into bus driver...Here's why and what's his promise!

Tamil Nadu Minister for Backward Classes Welfare SS Sivasankar has turned into the bus driver on Monday as he fulfilled the party's poll promise of implementing a new bus service in a village of his district. The villagers had demanded additional bus service for five years and Sivasankar had promised the voters of the bus service as per their demand in the recently-held state assembly polls.

Sivasankar had contested from the Kunnam assembly constituency in Ariyalur district as the DMK candidate and during the election campaign, the villagers had demanded additional bus service between Anandavadi and Jayankondam as there was only one bus operating in the route. Sivasankar had promised to meet their demands and he went on to win the constituency and became the first-time minister in the state with the portfolio of Backward Classes Welfare.

According to reports, after Sivansankar became the cabinet minister, the villagers had submitted a petition to his office in Ariyalur seeking the additional bus service. Days after their petition, Sivasankar has fulfilled the promise and he inaugurated the additional bus service between Anandavadi and Jayankondam on Monday. To deliver the promise, Sivasankar turned into a driver and drove the bus by himself to the village.

As they have got a new bus service, the villagers of Anandavadi and Jayankondam had expressed their happiness as they had finally received another bus service after incessant demands for over five years. The villagers say that there is only one bus operating between Anandavadi and Jayankondam in the morning, afternoon, and night.

As the sequel of limited bus service, people going for jobs and school children studying at nearby government schools had left out with no choice but to wait for hours for the bus or to arrange their own transport, something the villagers can't afford to. Their five-year demand has finally been met and the new bus service has brought a new ray of hope for the villagers as they now can make a hassle-free journey.
