Earlier, some moviegoers claimed that the actress was undetectable on the big screen. But it appears that all the rumors about who would play Ranbir Kapoor's mother Amrita in Ayan Mukerji's Barhmastra Part 2-Dev are over.
The first part of the glimpse video has been viral for some days as the slow-motion shot made Deepika Padukone's profile clearly visible. Together, these two have worked together as a couple for four films, and they've topped the charts and won over countless hearts. The pair has previously collaborated on Tamasha, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Bombay Talkies, and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
Along with Deepika's unexpected presence in the sequel, there has also been speculation that Deepika's husband, actor Ranveer Singh, will also make an appearance. The first part in Ayan Mukerji's planned trilogy, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, is titled Shiva. Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni also appeared in the movie.
The fantasy action adventure, which was inspired by Hindu mythology tales, follows Shiva, an orphan with pyrokinetic abilities who learns that he is an astra—a weapon of tremendous energy—and that he has pyrokinetic abilities. He makes an effort to stop the Brahmstra, the strongest of the astras, from falling into the hands of evil forces with whom he has a shared past.
