Nirmala Sitharaman has scripted a new record as she delivered her first shortest budget speech since taking the office as her budget speech lasted only for 58 minutes.

The budget has spurred strong criticism from the league of opposition while the ruling ministers including the Prime Minister had staunchly backed the Finance Minister.
Nirmala Sitharaman, who is the first full-time female Finance Minister of India, has presented her fourth straight Union Budget on Tuesday -February 1 in the Lok Sabha.
The Central ruling BJP had framed the budget to have talking points during the campaign trail in these states -particularly in the southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
