Ukrainians living across the world are taking part in these protests as the global solidarity unprecedently grows for Ukraine.

A statement from the Prime Minister's Office said PM Modi has called for concerted efforts from all sides to return to the path of diplomatic negotiations and dialogue.

From the hearts of Ukrainian citizens, no one was ready for a war and they hadn't expected a military clampdown on their homes and streets.

While Ukraine has sought Modi's intervention to speak with Putin, India had already reiterated its stand of staying away from direct intervention, something which was welcomed by Russia. 

When the conflict had escalated, India had neither voiced in favour of the United States nor it had directly condemned Russia's advancement towards the Ukrainian territory.

As the Russian troops had invaded Ukraine, the Indian Embassy has on Thursday issued a fresh advisory along with the helpline numbers where the Indians can reach out. 

Had the returned Air India flight landed in Kyiv, it would have become the second special flight from India to bring back the stranded Indians in Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden said, "President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering."

The vaccine has been named 'Sputnik V' in reference to the world's first satellite that was launched by the Soviet Union in 1957.
