"Naatu Naatu" competed against Lady Gaga's Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick to Rihanna's Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The director also added that he was "pleasantly surprised" by the buzz around "RRR" in the West, he said, pointing to what he called a "lack of maximalist entertainment".

The film was released on March 22, 2022, and the maverick filmmaker is now busy with the promotions of "RRR" for the Oscar campaign which the event will be held on March 12, 2023.

In accepting the trophy for Best Stunts, SS Rajamouli gave an emotional speech. he said "Mera Bharat Mahaan" and dedicated the honour to India.

"We also just talked about Mayabazar  if RRR is a distortion of history, Mayabazar is a distortion of the historic epic,"

The prestigious Padma awards also conferred to singers Suman Kalyanpur and Vani Jairam for their exemplary service to the country.

"There are moments in the film where I just had to get up. I'm talking about watching at home! I'm standing up,"

RRR film earlier became the first Indian movie to win a Golden Globe Award. The film was nominated for the Golden Globe Awards under two categories-  Best Original Song and Best Non- English language film.

'All Quiet on the Western Front', 'Argentina 1985', 'Bardo', 'False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths', 'Close' and 'Decision to Leave' were the films stood along with RRR in the list.

RRR has earned a global prominence after Naatu Naatu song made it through the Golden Globe Award by defeating Hollywood contenders.
