Beginning on September 7 in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, Rahul Gandhi walking for a total of 150 days, traveling 3,570 kilometers across 12 states and two union territories, stopping in seven districts over the course of 19 days, and finally arriving in Karnataka on October 1.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the early MPs to cast his vote on Monday morning for the Presidential election at Parliament House in New Delhi.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday voted in the Presidential election, just after he was discharged from a hospital here following recovery from COVID-19. Stalin was the first to cast his vote in the Secretariat complex and furtherly the polling began.

After nominating Murmu for the post of President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said she has devoted her life to serving society and expressed confidence that she will be a great President. 

The incumbent Ram Nath Kovind would be demitting his office next month and his successor would be announced on July 21, three days after the election. 

Sinha is the co-author of the book 'India Unmade: How the Modi government broke the economy'. Published in 2018, his book criticizes the economic policies of the BJP-led NDA government. 

The tenure of Ram Nath Kovind is coming to an end next month as the presidential polls would be held on July 18 and the winner would be announced on July 21.
