On the other hand, a trader in the Salem district has died after he was beaten by a police officer in a checkpoint amid enforcing the COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions.
He was all alone at the quarters and there was no response from him for the past two days, which had prompted the neighbours to alert the police to ascertain what had happened to him.
