Congratulations to the entire fleet of para-athletes for making Gold and proud through your glorious milestones and a big salute for creating history. 

With the back to back medals in the High jump on Tuesday, India currently stands at the 30th spot in the medal tally by winning ten medals - two golds, five silvers, and three bronzes.

The Prime Minister wrote, "Soaring higher and higher! Mariyappan Thangavelu is synonymous with consistence and excellence. Congratulations to him for winning the Silver Medal. India is proud of his feat".

Like Neeraj Chopra, it's the maiden Paralympic Games for Sumit Antil and both of them had made the country proud by accomplishing the 'gold'en dream. 

19-year-old shooter Avani Lekhara scripted history by winning the gold medal in the women's 10m Air Rifle. She had become the first Indian woman to win Gold in the Paralympics.

What is more significant is that the ongoing games are Avani's maiden Paralympics and she entered the battle with the tag of the world no 5 in 10m air rifle. 

On Friday, she ensured a place on the medal podium by entering the semifinals after defeating Serbia's world number five Borislava Peric Rankovic, who won Gold in the Rio Paralympic games.
