On the front of creating jobs, Nirmala Sitharaman said, "Pandemic has snatched away so many jobs across the world. Our Atmanirbhar Bharat Package saved the jobs of a lot of people."
The budget has spurred strong criticism from the league of opposition while the ruling ministers including the Prime Minister had staunchly backed the Finance Minister.
Nirmala Sitharaman, who is the first full-time female Finance Minister of India, has presented her fourth straight Union Budget on Tuesday -February 1 in the Lok Sabha.
They had urged the Union government to provide an exemption to the life-saving drugs from paying tax and that the government should encourage the production of such drugs within the country.
The Central ruling BJP had framed the budget to have talking points during the campaign trail in these states -particularly in the southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
