The sudden change of guard in the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah had come a year ahead of the Gujarat Assembly polls.

59-year-old Bhupendra Patel was unanimously elected BJP Legislature party leader and his name was proposed by ousted Rupani. 

The Central ruling party has decided to celebrate Modi's birthday by inoculating a maximum number of vaccine doses across the country. 

On Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu Assembly has passed a resolution against the CAA amid the protests carried out by the BJP.
