GN Anbu Cheziyan and notable producers Kalaipuli S Thanu, SR Prabhu, and Gnanavel Raja have come under the scanner and their residences are being searched.
The IT sleuths have on Wednesday morning stormed into Xavier Britto's residence in Kasthuribai Nagar in Adyar, Chennai and into his offices in Adambakkam.
The raids had stirred outrage from the opposition leaders as they had flayed the Center and Prime Minister Modi for intimidating the DMK through raids.
Udhayanidhi Stalin had issued a challenge to the Income Tax department to conduct a raid at his residence. He had put out his address and asked the IT sleuths to come to his residence.
DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan said, "The IT officials are involved in the searches with the politically motivated agenda during the election time."
The back-to-back raid shows unveiled by IT have been occupying the political spotlight amid heated political campaigns of the leaders in the wake of the assembly polls.
The spokesperson of CBDT said that the search has led to the identification of unaccounted investments of around Rs 150 crore and cash amounting to Rs 5 crore has been seized.
