Losing the ADMK in its alliance would cost BJP with more struggles and challenges to survive in a state like Tamil Nadu, where the anti-BJP electorate is getting rampant.

The ADMK-BJP alliance contested in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls for the first time and now, after four years, the parties are turning into foes. 

ADMK has been a largest ally of BJP and it was evident when EPS was seated next to Prime Minister Modi in a recently-held NDA meeting where the allied parties of BJP took part.

Tamil Nadu's Opposition party ADMK has been bracing up a back-to-back trouble as two former ministers and senior leaders are in uphill battle over serious legal issues.

Edappadi Palaniswami has backtracked his decision and announced that the party's lone candidate in Karnataka would pull out from the contest, which would make ADMK come out of the race in Karnataka.

As the Election Commission has officially recongised EPS, it has seemingly become certain that the gates for the ADMK's leadership are closed for OPS.

The announcement has come days after the party has decided to refrain from fielding its candidates in Karnataka and to support BJP in the state.

EPS won a crucial legal battle on Tuesday - March 28 in the Madras High Court where he defeated his rival O Panneerselvam (OPS) by getting a verdict backing his political elevation of becoming ADMK's general secretary.

As his supporters see EPS as the party's face and force, they are celebrating his elevation across the state by exchanging sweets and smiles.
